MUSIC

A troupe of mediaeval musicians, Ghaetta, will make our Christmas party truly festive. Dressed as Lady Juliana de St Remy and her entourage, they will make sure their guests observe polite mediaeval table manners, entertain us with their music between courses, and introduce us to their instruments.

FEASTING

The feast is being cooked and served for us by Trax, an Oxford charity working with disadvantaged young people giving them a sense of purpose through educating, inspiring and supporting them. They are devising a truly delicious meal for us. http://www.traxorg.com/

AUCTION

Royse Murphy’s beautiful Iffley Lion will be auctioned, so I hope we don’t ending up fighting over this stunning piece of contemporary/romanesque sculpture! We will operate sealed bids. Slips and envelopes will be available in the Iffley Shop along with the tickets for the Banquet, and also in the Hall during the first part of the evening. A suggested starting figure is £30 but I would expect this unique work of art to be worth up to ten times that. There will also be small tiles of our lovely Iffley rosettes and the ‘green man’ for sale at a much smaller cost.

This brand new carving of the Lion on the South Door of Iffley Church will be auctioned during the Mediaeval Banquet. Proceeds will be donated to charity.

Please come! Dress in costume if you want to. Volunteers, please make sure you have your red shirt with you as we will be taking a special group photo!

Note, Living Stones volunteers come for FREE if they have their red shirt with them. They still need to have a ticket which can be collected from the Shop during November. Friends, relations and all fans of feasting, music and St Mary’s Iffley are warmly welcome. Tickets are only £10 from the Iffley Shop or from ptyack.livingstones@gmail.com  We need to know exact numbers by 30 November so please pick up your tickets as soon as possible.
