Nearly sixty people gathered in the twilight at Iffley Burial Ground last night to lay wreaths on the two war graves before moving into the church for a simple act of remembrance. Each name from the War Memorial was read as a muffled bell rung, and there was time for prayer, silence and music. As we left, the Paschal candle remained burning in the sanctuary.
